Morning Manna: “This Is the Lord’s Doing, and It Is Marvelous”
Scripture: “This is the Lord’s doing; it is marvelous in our eyes.” — Psalm 118:23
There are some moments in life you cannot explain by talent, timing, strategy, or strength alone. Some doors open that no human could have opened. Some burdens lift in ways you did not see coming. Some prayers are answered so perfectly that all you can do is step back and say, “This is the Lord’s doing.”
Psalm 118 is a testimony of divine intervention. The writer recognizes that what has happened is not coincidence, luck, or human achievement. It is the hand of God at work. And when God moves, His work is not ordinary—it is marvelous. It leaves us in wonder. It humbles us. It reminds us that God is still active in the lives of His people.
Sometimes we spend too much time trying to figure everything out. We want explanations for every blessing, every breakthrough, and every unexpected turn. But not everything God does can be explained—some things must simply be worshipped. When God restores your joy, heals your heart, makes a way out of no way, or turns rejection into redirection, it is marvelous.
This verse also teaches us to give God the credit He deserves. We live in a world that celebrates self-made success, but believers know better. We know there are victories that came only because the Lord fought for us. There are opportunities we walked into because His favor went before us. There are seasons we survived because His grace held us together.
Today, take a moment and look back over your life. Think about the prayers He answered, the dangers He blocked, the doors He opened, and the peace He gave. Then say with confidence, “This is the Lord’s doing, and it is marvelous in my eyes.”
Lord, today I thank You for the marvelous things You have done in my life. Forgive me for the times I overlooked Your hand and took credit for what only You could do. Open my eyes to see Your goodness, Your favor, and Your faithfulness more clearly. Let my heart stay humble, grateful, and full of wonder. In Jesus’ name, amen.
When God does it, it will be undeniable. What He brings to pass in your life will not only bless you—it will leave you standing in awe.
